Abstract

The use of different types of oxygen analyzers in today’s process industries can prove not only beneficial in improving process efficiency but also in assuring plant and process safety as well as product quality. The various technologies used in oxygen sensors allow users to carefully select the analyzer that is best for their process conditions and application. This paper will focus on the use of oxygen analyzers in a broad range of industries and sub-divide applications into three basic groups: process efficiency, process safety, and product quality. In many cases these three groups overlap in ways such that an efficient process also means a safe process and the production of high quality product. The paper will discuss the use of on-line as well as portable type oxygen analyzers.
